My Story: Debt Free Determined

Hey! Welcome. I guess I’ll jump right in since this is the first post! I’m really just your typical college grad dealing with the pain of student loans and wishing I didn’t have any. I’m grateful for my education, but now I have $40,800 left to pay for it. My student loans started at around $60,000, so I’ve made some progress. Just not as fast as I’d like.

Based on various conversations with friends and family, I worry many people aren’t aware of just how detrimental debt can be toward a person’s happiness, mental peace and financial freedom over the course of their lifetime. Especially if you just let it linger. I hope my blog can shed light on the seriousness of debt (but also the satisfaction of paying it down!) while being easy to follow for young college grads and young professionals alike.

I can’t wait to share this journey with you in hopes that it will help hold me accountable as I pay my loans off, but also hope it will help you along your debt pay down journey, whatever the amount may be.

My goal is to wipe out > $40k worth of loans by July 2021. But the quicker the better.

Do you have any personal financial goals? If so, comment below! I’d love to hear them.

And without further ado, here’s Debt Free Determined.
