Life coach bio samples that convert (30+ examples)

If you are a life coach or you plan to start a life coach business, the first step is to create a great coaching bio.

Why is a life coaching bio so important, you ask? When your prospective clients read your bio, it will give them their very first introduction to who you are and what you’re capable of.

From there, your prospective clients will determine if they think you can help them or not. In other words, your bio will be a big deciding factor in whether or not your potential clients hire you for your services.

A well-written bio can also separate you from your competition. In this article, you’ll learn how to write a great bio no matter your coaching niche.

But first, let’s start with the basics…

Quick Navigation

What is a life coach?

According to Very Well Mind, a life coach is, “a type of wellness professional who helps people make progress in their lives in order to attain greater fulfillment.”

Life coaches offer direction and encouragement. A life coach has some sort of expertise in a particular area, and is genuinely excited and passionate about helping others overcome whatever struggles they have in that area.

It’s important to note that life coaches are different from therapists. Life coaches can’t diagnose you with a mental health disorder, and really shouldn’t recommend anything along those lines to their clients at any time.

Further, life coaches don’t need to have a certification, whereas therapists have gone to school, gotten degrees, and are certified to do what they do.

But just because a life coach may not be certified in any way or have a bachelor’s degree does not mean they can’t be incredibly helpful.

Some of the best life coaches don’t have certifications, and they end up helping thousands of people anyway.

What are the life coach specializations?

There are a variety of things that life coaches can specialize in. Life coaches may have expertise in the following areas:

  • Mental health / mindset
  • Spirituality
  • Finances
  • Fitness
  • Relationships
  • Health / Wellness
  • Career
  • Business
  • Leadership / Executive

If you are looking to become a life coach yourself, you have many options when it comes to choosing an area that you’d like to specialize in.

What should be in a coaching bio?

At the very least, life coaches should include the following key points in their bio:

  • A strong hook to grab the potential client’s attention that highlights a pain point that person likely has
  • Your name
  • Any qualifications / certifications that you have
  • How you will help their clients (any specific strategies or tools you use)
  • What life coaching area you specialize in / years of experience
  • The outcome you can help your potential clients achieve

In the end, you want to communicate what you do, why someone should trust you, and how you can help them.

Clients are coming to you because they want someone to help solve their problem(s) and it’s imperative that through your bio, you show them that you are the right person for the job!

Figure out what problem your target market has, and include in your bio how you will help your target audience solve or overcome that problem.

And remember: your bio can always be edited in the future as you become more experienced and refine your coaching strategy.

How do you introduce yourself as a life coach?

As a life coach, you introduce yourself with your bio. Your bio can be anywhere from a few sentences to a few paragraphs.

As long as a prospective client can read your bio and walk away knowing how you can help them, your bio will help you land your ideal clients.

It’s also a good idea to include your email address or contact information somewhere near your bio. This way, after a potential client reads your bio, they know how to contact you if they are interested in your services.
